30/8/2008 Brinkworth Rare Breeds Festival

We were asked by Collin Thomas if we would hold a stand at this years Brinkworth Rare breeds festival to promote the Hill Ponies of Wales. We had a lovely day with lots of interest in the welsh mountain ponies and the weather was glorious too. We were asked to join in the grand parade in the main ring and asked to give a short talk on the history of the welsh mountain pony and what they are bred and used for today.

Welcome to Caehen Stud.

We are a small stud aiming to breed a true type of welsh mountain pony.
We are situated in the beautiful Oxfordshire country side half way between Oxford & Swindon. We have both always had a passion for these beautiful hardy ponies, so we have decided to invest in some nice, well bred, quality stock.
We have started our stud basing our ponies on old bloodlines including Revel, Synod & Brierwood, which has had much success within the show ring. We have chosen these ponies in particular as they are all good types.
Our aim is to breed ponies of true Welsh Mountain type, with good temperament and movement.
We also aim to show some of our home bred stock.
