Caehen Filly 17th - 20th August 2008 R.I.P
We had a beautiful filly foal born on sunday
17th august out of our little mare Criccieth Clap that we bought
at the spring sale. Sire to the foal was Revel Jimbo. Sadly the
filly developed septicaemia, 24 hours after she was born in her
near side hock. We had the vet out to her and she was taken in
to veterinary hospital. They took some of the fluid from her
hock which was found to be excessively toxic. A culture was
taken and grown over night from it and the bactiria was found to
be really aggressive and we had to make the hard decision this
morning to have her put to sleep as the infection was spreading
rapidly and she was not strong enough to survive.
